A little note before we begin
At Country Charm, we've always loved homes that feel collected rather than perfectly decorated — a little wicker here, something floral there, natural textures underfoot, and pieces that are beautiful but still useful enough for everyday life.
That's the thinking behind our Summer Refresh edit.
We didn't build it around changing an entire room. We chose pieces that can make the corners you already use feel warmer, lighter, and a little more cared for.
Here are seven places we'd start.
1. Start with the part of the house everyone sees first
Sometimes the easiest refresh is right outside the front door.
A clean entrance, a plant or two, and something natural underfoot can change the whole first impression of a home without asking much from you.
Our Halfa Oval Welcome Mat is made from natural halfa grass and has the kind of texture that sits comfortably beside stone, wood, greenery, and simple painted doors.
We'd keep the rest of the entrance fairly quiet.
A pair of planters. Maybe a basket nearby if shoes or bags tend to gather at the door.
That's enough.
2. Change the floor before changing the furniture
When a living room starts feeling a little tired, it's tempting to start mentally replacing everything in it.
Don't.
Try changing the layer underneath first.

3. Give everyday clutter somewhere beautiful to land
Real homes have things in them.

Good storage doesn't have to make all of that disappear. It just makes it look intentional.
The Farmhouse Wicker Basket is one of our favorite pieces for this because it has enough presence to be part of the room rather than something you need to hide away.
Its bamboo structure and floral lining bring together two details that run through a lot of Country Charm's home pieces: natural texture and soft pattern.
Beside a sofa, we'd use it for a folded throw or a few magazines. In the kitchen, it can hold linens or bread. In a bedroom, it becomes an easy place for the things you want nearby without leaving them scattered.
For something smaller, the Cottage Round Wicker Basket works beautifully on a bedside table, dresser, shelf, or kitchen counter.
The point isn't really the basket.
It's having fewer things floating around the room.
That alone can make a space feel refreshed.
4. Set the table even when nobody is coming over
A table doesn't need guests to deserve a little attention.
Actually, some of our favorite table settings are the ones made for an ordinary breakfast, a slow cup of coffee, or simply because the dining room feels nicer when the table looks cared for.
Start with the Fleur Table Runner down the middle. Its soft pink floral pattern brings enough color to wake up a simple white or wooden table without making the whole setting feel overly styled.
Then add the Round Wicker placemats where you're actually sitting. The woven texture gives the table a warmer, more natural layer and works beautifully with the floral runner.
Because the Fleur pattern already brings color and detail, everything around it can stay simple: cream or white plates, everyday cups, soft napkins, and whatever flowers happen to be in the house.

That mix of floral fabric and woven wicker is one of those combinations that feels unmistakably Country Charm without needing much arranging.
And yes, we're absolutely in favor of setting the nice table for breakfast.

5. Add candlelight before the sun goes down
Candles don't have to wait until dinner.
We love them during the day too, particularly when the table is otherwise fairly simple.
The Twister Dinner Candles come as a set of three spiral tapers, and their shape gives them enough character to work as part of the table even before they're lit.
Place them with the Fleur runner for a slightly dressed-up table, or put one or two on a sideboard with a small vase.
The trick is knowing when to stop.

6. Refresh the corners you usually forget about
Not every change needs to happen in the middle of a room.
Look at the small places instead.

Those spots are often easier — and cheaper — to improve than the whole room.

7. Stop before the room starts looking “styled”
This may be the most important part.
The goal isn't to make your home look like nobody lives there.
Let the runner wrinkle a little.
Let the basket actually hold things.
Leave the book beside the chair.
Keep the coffee cup on the coaster.
A home usually feels warmer when you can see some evidence of the people living in it.
For summer, we'd choose one corner that feels heavy or forgotten and change just that.
Maybe it's the entrance.
Maybe it's the dining table.
Maybe it's finally giving that pile beside the sofa somewhere better to live.
Start there.
You can always do another corner next weekend.
